Tuesday 02/11/14 Recap

Hey guys thank you for attending this meeting. This will be a quick recap.
For those of you who  have not turned in your strawberry order money, or order count/forms, please do so ASAP. We need to have a count so that we can make the correct amount. Also for those who volunteered to help make those strawberries try to keep your schedule open. All help would be greatly appreciated and will count towards participation points.

Guys also, whoever signed up to buy a t-shirt, we need the money so we can place the orders. Please bring in $15 for the t-shirts ASAP. Deadline is next meeting. Tuesday 2/18/14

AITP Competition Training

Hello all,

Listed below are a few links we can all use to brush up on training for competition.

A special thanks to Evelyn Ramirez for finding the excellent set of quizzes at the following link—LOTS of stuff covered here. http://www.quiz2play.com/ We recommend the center blocks [located at the very bottom of the page] for everyone (PC Fundamentals, Networking, Linux blocks), plus there’s a database block on the right, web programming on the left.

There is also a playlist of tutorials that do some important Office advanced functions:

Students can select topics listed that they haven’t mastered yet, from among the various videos.

Tuesday Jan. 28th Meeting Recap

Hey fellow AITP members, thank you to everyone who attended the meeting today. For those who didn't attend we went over some important topics. We discussed fundraising ideas including, BBQ tickets, Valentines' Day Chocolate Strawberries, and donations/sponsorship from businesses and the public.

We also covered T-shirt designs and pricing. We are currently getting a quote from two different companies, but as of now it looks like we are shooting for the shirts to cost at most $15. Here is a link of the design at custom ink. These shirts are important for us to have as an organization for activities on and off campus, they help to represent the organization and give us a team uniform. If you missed today's meeting and would like to purchase a shirt please email us at aitpbroncs@gmail.com with the word "T SHIRT" in the subject line. Please include the size you would like to order, the quantity you would like to order of that size, and your name. We would like to order these soon so please contact us ASAP with size information.

Dr. Hughes would also like to have a head count and time availability for those who need to begin training sessions for competition. Please email that information to eapakhomova@broncs.utpa.edu.

Community Service Ideas

Please comment below with any community service ideas. Community service that is related to IT is best, but feel free to leave a comment below with any suggestion. In the past we have refurbished donated computers and re-donated them to an orphanage in Reynosa Mexico. This is an example of what we can do as an organization.
